FactoryTwin® Announces Collaboration with UConn’s Digital Frontiers Initiative

Expanding Industry–Academic Collaboration to Prepare the Next Generation of Digital Manufacturing Leaders

Hopkins, MN — December 2025 — FactoryTwin is pleased to announce a new collaboration with the Digital Frontiers Initiative (DFI) at the University of Connecticut School of Business to support student-driven innovation through the Spring 2026 Capstone Program. DFI serves as a hub for industry partnership and applied learning—uniting the capabilities and vision of the Connecticut Information Technology Institute (CITI) and Innovate Labs.

Through this partnership, FactoryTwin will sponsor a semester-long project where a selected class of UConn students will work directly with FactoryTwin's core team on a real-world digital manufacturing challenge. Over 12–14 weeks, students will contribute applied work in areas such as data analytics, AI/ML for manufacturing, supply chain analytics, cloud systems, and operational decision intelligence, allowing them to translate classroom learning into meaningful industry impact.

“At FactoryTwin, we believe that advancing digital transformation in manufacturing requires not only strong technology, but also strong talent,” said Dr. Vivek Saxena, CEO of FactoryTwin. “Partnering with UConn’s Digital Frontiers Initiative gives us the opportunity to support the next generation of innovators while engaging students in practical, high-value work that reflects real factory conditions.”

“Working with cutting-edge companies like FactoryTwin, especially in a rapidly evolving manufacturing sector, is a tremendous opportunity for our students. It allows them to apply fast-advancing AI approaches to real business challenges and gain meaningful, hands-on experience,” said Jonathan Moore, Executive Director, Digital Frontiers Initiative at the University of Connecticut School of Business.

This initiative reflects FactoryTwin’s continued commitment to workforce development, academic partnerships, and scalable digital transformation for small and mid-sized U.S. manufacturers. The project outcomes will support ongoing FactoryTwin R&D efforts while offering students practical exposure to modern factory operations, data integrity, AI, and digital-twin applications.
